A note from Karen-May Jackson, owner and founder…

My favourite time of the year, Spring is about new beginnings, the perfect time to launch our brand, India May Home.

I have always loved the calming qualities of a pared back interior, whether at home, whilst traveling or dining out. There is something so sophisticated and timeless about walking into a room with neutral qualities that enhance special pieces to draw the eye and take you on a journey. It appears effortless and yet it is achieved with some thought. Simplicity is beauty.

The Scandinavians of course do this so well, a style that speaks confidence in a relaxed way and a source of much inspiration.

We celebrate this ‘New Simple’… organics, balance, layers, textures, and beautiful handcrafted pieces.

My inspiration comes from a love of travel and nature. I am a boho girl at heart and have always been drawn to the exotic pull of a Moroccan souk or an Indian palace fort. Such embellished beauty is hidden behind every corner, from the carvings on a door to the tiles on the floor. It is an overload of senses that inspire my collection and is the very heart of India May Home.

I visit India and Morocco on a regular basis, spending time with the Artisans, developing ideas and overseeing the manufacturing process … We love to tell their story. Each piece is designed to speak the same language, a cohesive balance, all perfectly complimenting each other. Scandinavian meets Bohemian Chic runs through the whole collection. I call it ‘Scandi-boho’ !

Every piece in the collection has a personal connection to me, after all I was there from it’s inception. I have highlighted a selection of my personal favourites called signature pieces. Among the signature pieces are our Ishwari brass trays, hand engraved and finished in silver or black. These trays can be arranged in so many ways and yet look beautiful just on their own. Watching the artisans hand engrave these trays is a beauty in itself.

Another, favourite for me is our bone inlay collection, sourced from the magical region of Rajashthan, India. The intricate pieces of ethically sourced bone are carved and delicately inlaid into wooden frames. The process takes months and the end result is breathtaking, see our elegant grey and white collection.

One of my great enjoyments is styling our products and sharing these images on our website. That way you can have the full experience of India May Living. I also would love to see how you style our items, so please feel free to share your ideas and inspirations with us through our social media.

I hope you adore this collection as much as I do, there is so much more to come, please follow our journey.

Enjoy creating perfect karma in your space.

Namaste Karen-May xxx
